Saturday, November 3, 2018
The 31st Annual Chili Cook-Off in Five Points will be on Saturday, November 3rd. Once again, we are giving you the chance to watch teams battle it out for Columbia's best chili! Join us on Greene St. & Pavilion Ave. from noon to 6 pm, for over 30 awesome chilis, live music, children’s area, craft beers, cornhole, a few GIANT games, and more!
The best part? The event is FREE!
Chilis will be taste tested by our panel of 10 experts and judged in the following categories: Overall Best Chili (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place), Best Vegetarian, Best Texas Style, and Best Non-Traditional. Bar & Restaurant teams will be competing for the Best Bar/Restaurant. All teams will also be competing for Best Set-Up"and the Taneyhill's Group Therapy Silver Spoon Award for the most monies raised.
Money raised through $1 donations (chili samples & 21+ wristbands) go towards Happy Wheels and Venture Crew 312 - both benefit youth in the greater Columbia area. Each week volunteers with Happy Wheels bring fully-loaded carts filled with new toys and books for children in the hospital. Sponsored by the Boys Scouts of America, Venture Crew 312 is a co-ed, fun-seeking, outdoor-oriented youth group aimed at growing future leaders.
