Philosophy of Five Points

“How do we care for each other in times of despair?,” “What is worth failing for?”, “Who owns what we create?” These are just some of the questions that a group of over 40 visionaries, including shop owners, philosophers, students, actors, artists, and musicians have explored for the past two years with our groundbreaking immersive, multidisciplinary collaboration between University of South Carolina’s Department of Philosophy, Five Points Association and Cola Love.

Five Points’ charming shops extended their opening hours to set the stage for an enchanting atmosphere with inviting storefronts, a remarkable fusion of intellect, creativity, and talent awaited our attendees. Shop owners and this diverse group of thinkers and artists curated interactive sessions aimed at engaging, entertaining, and educating visitors. Throughout the evening of this event, attendees embark on a captivating “curiosity crawl” through Five Points, exploring these interactive spaces. Along the way, participants have the chance to engage with the artists’ creative minds behind each experience, ponder profound questions, and engage in entertaining activities that we hope fosters a deeper connection to the community. Participants participate in a collection of their stops to be entered for a chance to win a gift card to FPA merchants. The evening concludes at Claussen’s Pop-up space where attendees have further opportunity to mingle with our featured artists, philosophers and merchants, participate in an interactive artmaking experience and get to enjoy artistic works created throughout the evening.
