Commissioned by the Five Points Association, Drip Coffee, Pecknel Music Co. and One Columbia in 2017 artist Chad Brady brought the essence of Five Points together in a vibrant, breath taking, and colorful neighborhood depiction.
“My theme was always somewhat like a postcard. They wanted something that was a landmark and people would want to pose in front of, but I felt like it should (represent) Five Points and why you should want to go to Five Points. It’s music and the St. Patrick’s Day festival and people eating at a cafe, people shopping, getting haircuts – just a social hub that you come down to. ” – Chad Brady
Chad Brady captures the energy of Five Points using a colorful array of images depicting music, shopping, dining and University of South Carolina game day celebrations which can all be enjoyed in the area. This mural is a must-see!
“As part of an effort to complement the existing public art and landmarks in Five Points, the Postcard Mural has become one of the newly named “Selfie Spots”, (Five Points Association) making it a great place for tourist and locals to stop for a photo while visiting the Five Points neighborhood.
